Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing each day of the month. They strive for nothing more than technique improvement and bravely share successes and failures every day on social media. I embraced it for the first time in 2017 making the U.S. Botanic Garden my daily destination. I finished with 31 plant drawings inspired by the Inktober official list of prompt words. This is a sample from the full set of drawings that was later acquired by the Botanic Garden to be used in their education and outreach materials. It was also a pleasure to give a well-attended lecture at the Garden to speak about the project.
